Homeowner Attacked, Suspect Nabbed In Broad Daylight Break-In: Slate Belt Police

A homeowner was attacked and a suspect arrested following a broad daylight home break-in, authorities in the Slate Belt confirmed.

Robert Shane Badua, 35, is accused of breaking into a home on the 500 block of Norman Road in Plainfield Township shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, Slate Belt Regional Police said.

Badua forced entry through a rear dead-bolted door and damaged the door in the process, police said.

Once inside, Badua got into a fight with and injured the homeowner, police said citing surveillance footage.

Badua was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his own injuries.

Badua was arrested the following morning and charged with felony burglary, simple assault, and criminal mischief.

He was being held in Northampton County Prison.
